Homecoming Week has officially started, and today our students are showing their school spirit by wearing their class colors! Tomorrow, Tuesday, is Sports Day, and we are excited to see everyone participating and showing their team pride.
Thank you for your continued support in making this week a fun and memorable experience for our students!

Albert Lea Homecoming is Friday, September 27 and we're excited to celebrate with a week full of fun dress-up days leading up to the big game! We encourage all students to participate and show their school spirit! It's a great opportunity to come together as a school community and create some unforgettable memories.
Students wear your class color on Monday!

I’m excited to recognize one of our outstanding students! A big shout-out goes to Helena for her hard work and dedication in art class. She not only completed her project but also truly enjoyed the creative process along the way. It’s wonderful to see our students thriving and embracing their creativity!
Way to go, Helena! Keep up the great work!

A huge shout out to Aleyna Kratz for taking first place for Halverson running in the 800 meter run in 4 minutes 40 seconds put on by Albert Lea's awesome cross country team. Great job to all who participated! Thank you Mr. Ille for attending and supporting our students.

Halverson's fourth grade students enjoyed reading their newly checked out books from the library under the tress, enjoying the wonderful weather.

The students in Miss Mueller's first grade class took some time to reflect on their school day by participating in an activity where they shared a “rose” (a highlight of their day) or a “thorn” (something that wasn’t as great). Each student rolled a ball to the next person to take a turn, creating a fun and engaging way to express their thoughts.
This activity helped the students practice communication skills while building a sense of community in the classroom. I encourage you to ask your child about their "rose" and "thorn" from today!

We’re excited to announce the addition of a Dining link to the AL Tigers Unite app! You can now easily access school breakfast and lunch menus directly from the app, keeping you informed of meal options for your students.
Simply tap the Dining link from the app’s menu to view the latest menus and plan ahead for the week.
We would like to update parents and guardians on a social media post that has been misinterpreted across the nation. When we learned of this initial post that had a school named Southwest on it, we immediately contacted our school resource officers, Officer Huse & Officer Conn. Upon investigating, we were informed that there is an underperforming list of Georgia schools circling around Snapchat. The “targeted assistance” list included a school named Southwest Middle School that was to receive targeted academic supports. Unfortunately, the misinformation led to some putting this information on social media with the wrong information and context. At no point were Albert Lea Area Schools identified nor in danger. We will continue to make our students and staff our top priority by ensuring their safety. We value and appreciate the support from Albert Lea Police Department and Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office and will continue to partner with them to ensure the safety of students and staff members.
Thank you for your continued support of the Albert Lea Area Schools.
Students in Mrs. Lein's Class are focusing on a purposeful movement break of following directions, moving their bodies, and practicing shapes. It is a great day for all. Enjoy!

We are thrilled to announce that our new accessible swing has been installed, and the students are absolutely excited about it! This addition supports our commitment to creating an inclusive playground where all our students can play and enjoy.
Thank you for being a part of our wonderful community!

See you there!

Halverson's 5th Grade Kindness Retreat was a huge success! Staff and students enjoyed a day at the Fieldhouse participating in engaging activities focusing on kindness. The afternoon concluded with students reflecting on ways that they can sprinkle more kindness.

I want to give a huge shout-out to all our amazing staff and students! The MCA scores are in, and I am thrilled to announce that Halverson students have increased their overall scores in all three subject areas: reading, math, and science. This achievement reflects the hard work and dedication of our entire school community.
I am incredibly proud of the efforts of our staff, caregivers, and students. Thank you for your continuous support in helping our students excel!
