Principal Larson shared the book We Belong by Laura Purdie Salas with all Halverson students, sparking discussions about the importance of each student as part of the Halverson community. Students decorated puzzle pieces, which were then assembled on a bulletin board with help from some of our 5th graders. At Halverson, We Belong Together!

A huge shout out to Halverson's wonderful Barb for incorporating artwork from our students in the front office. Your creativity is amazing!

I am excited to share how fortunate our students are to have wonderful volunteers participating in our building’s Reader’s Theater. These dedicated individuals bring stories to life, acting out some of the students’ favorite tales, creating an engaging and joyful learning experience. The enthusiasm and creativity of our volunteers not only foster a love of reading but also leave lasting memories for our students.
Thank you to all who contribute their time and talent to make Reader’s Theater such a special event!

Thanks to Halverson's wonderful art teacher, Mrs. Bremer, our fifth graders made Veteran's Day placemats. I can only imagine the smiles on the Veteran's faces when they see these creatively decorated placemats. We thank the Veteran's for their service.

Our fifth grade students are so engaged with our new curriculum, Wit & Wisdom. They had great discussions regarding the discoveries made by Lewis & Clark and how their discoveries changed the United States. Our wonderful fifth grade teachers, Mrs. Stadheim and Mrs. Wescott bring the topics to life.

Halverson has a great reading program, The Hollow Tree Reading Program.' Kenny just completed 10 chapter books and he gets to come to the media center and pick out a new chapter book and some special prizes for all of his great reading. We are fortunate to have Mrs. Thompson as our media clerk. She motivates and inspire our students to keep on reading.

What an exciting two days at Halverson. Tuesday the 3rd-5th grade students learned about planting succulents and were able to choose and plant their own. Today, the 3rd -5th graders taught their Halverson Buddy and assisted them in planting their own succulent plant. At Halverson, we are all growing together. A HUGE shout-out to Mrs. Thompson for donating the succulents and for teaching all the students and staff about how to care for their succulents, Halverson is a great place to be!

Wednesday is pajama day! Please ensure that PJ's are school appropriate.
It will be a great day to learn.

I’m excited to share that our fourth graders have been diving into some amazing learning experiences with our new English Language Arts curriculum, Wit & Wisdom. Recently, they’ve been exploring figurative language in their reading and writing, which has really sparked their creativity! Additionally, they’re learning all about the cardiovascular system, connecting science with their literacy skills.
We are so proud of their hard work and the great progress they’re making. It’s truly wonderful to see their enthusiasm and growth!
