🫶🏽 Halverson's Harvest of Thanks ☺️
We have so much to be grateful for and got to spend some time celebrating today. Rock climbing, wreath making, games, obstacle courses, snacks, and more! 🎉
Wishing all a safe, relaxing, long weekend! 🦃

🍁 Halverson is thankful for many things, as shown by our Thankful Tree in the media center!
Students and staff are able to list things they are thankful for and have them on display all month long. Here is a sneak peek at a few...

SPIRIT Parent Update and Family Game Night details.

📚 Halverson teachers are ALways learning! 📚
All teachers who are responsible for reading instruction in the district are being trained to enhance their teaching. As Halverson works towards being certified in High Reliability Schools Level 2, this is evidence of "Teachers are provided with job-embedded professional development that is directly related to their instructional growth goals."

🇺🇸 Halverson honored our Veterans today with a Veterans Day assembly. 2nd graders sang "You're a Grand Old Flag", 3rd graders read an acrostic poem, 4th graders read a poem, and 5th graders read their thoughts on what Veterans Day means them. We had a flag folding ceremony from Post 56 and heard from our very own Sargent Major Enser. 🫡

Halverson is ready for conference! Hope to see you and your student(s) today.

🍀 Halverson is so lucky to have Mrs. Waltman as our Media Specialist. 🍀
🤖 4th graders learned to code robots to line dance! 💃

🦺 5th graders at Halverson have the opportunity to participate in safety patrol before and after school. There are currently 30 patrollers and 3 captains. Members go through training and then work hard all year to ensure the safety of all Halverson students and families. 🦺

🦬 5th graders at Halverson learned about the beliefs and values of the Nez Perce (Nimiipuu) culture and the impact of westward expansion on their culture throughout module 1 of Wit & Wisdom. Today, students celebrated their learning by sampling some Nez Perce food and drink, as noted in one of our texts from the module. 🍓

What a night to remember at Jim Gustafson Field! The Albert Lea High School Class of 2025—our 141st graduating class—crossed the stage and stepped boldly into their futures. We are so proud of everything our graduates have achieved and the challenges they’ve overcome. Thank you to our families, staff, and community members for supporting these outstanding students. Congratulations, Class of 2025—your adventure is just beginning!

Halverson's 2nd graders are stepping up! They're hard at work practicing their reading skills and building stamina as they get ready for 3rd grade. We’re so proud of their focus, growth, and love for learning!

🎉📚 Today was Battle of the Books, and our 5th graders did a fabulous job! They came prepared, worked as a team, and showed great respect throughout the event. We’re proud to share that Halverson won the Sportsmanship Award and Lakeview answered the most questions correctly - congrats to all! 👏
A big shout-out to Coach Wescott for the dedication and support. Way to go, readers! 💙📖

Halverson was excited to welcome school board member MaryJo Dorman for a fun game of Bingo with our 4th and 5th graders! She generously donated books for students to win, and the excitement was contagious. Thank you, MaryJo, for helping our students head home with new books and big smiles!

A huge THANK YOU to our amazing SPIRIT parent group for the delicious treats from Mom’s Bakery Co. and the refreshing iced coffee drinks this morning!
What a perfect way to celebrate our last PLC of the 2024–2025 school year. Our teachers truly enjoyed the special time together—collaborating, reflecting, and feeling appreciated.
